2004 Norman N. Durham Lecture Series

Prior to his appointment, Secretary Miles Tolbert was an advisory director with the firm of Crowe and Dunlevy in Oklahoma City. He had previously served for several years as Chief of the Environmental Protection Unit in the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office. He earlier practiced in Washington, D.C. as a trial attorney for the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the United States Department of Justice. Secretary Tolbert is a member of the Mineral Law Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association and serves as President of the Environmental Law Section. He is licensed to practice in numerous federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Tolbert received his Bachelor of Arts degree in classics and political science, graduating with honors and distinction from Stanford University. He received his juris doctorate from Harvard Law School where he served as an editor of the Harvard Environmental Law Review. Mr. Tolbert is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
