2008 Award for Jimmie Pigg Research Assistantship in Environmental Policy
Mike Langston has a B.S. in Wildlife Ecology from OSU and an M.S. in Ecology from the University of Central Florida. He has served as the Assistant Director of Oklahoma Water Resource Research Institute since 2004. Prior to that, he worked 14 years for an environmental research and consulting firm in Florida where most of his research focused on treating wastewater using wetlands, wetland's ecology, and the ecology of threatened or endangered species. He is currently working toward a Ph.D. in Environmental Policy at OSU. Since returning to OSU, he has been part of four research teams: two that developed protocols for involving stakeholders in watershed management decisions, one that developed recommendations for soil clean-up levels after oil spills, and is currently working to gather public input for the revision of Oklahoma's Comprehensive Water Plan. Mike and his wife Kris have four children. |
