ALUMNI AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING ENVIRONMENTAL ACHIEVEMENT

This award is given to a graduate of the OSU Environmental Science Graduate Program who has accumulated an outstanding record of transdisciplinary accomplishment in the environmental profession and enabled other OSU graduates to succeed as well. The awardee will receive an engraved trophy and his or her name will be permanently displayed on an awards plaque. The Environmental Science Graduate Program will allocate a monetary award in the name of the awardee to a current Environmental Science graduate student who is likely to excel in an environmental professional career. The award will be given only once to the same individual.

.   Eligibility: Any graduate of the OSU Environmental Science graduate program.

 

2.   Criteria for Selection: Noteworthy accomplishments in the environmental profession and service to other graduates of the Environmental Science graduate program. 

a.   Quantity and quality of noteworthy personal accomplishments, including position advancement, appointments, awards, honorary degrees, economic impacts, etc. (40%)

b.   Record of professional and public service, publications, presentations, lectureships, etc. (30%)

c.   Evidence of service as an appropriate role model for other environmental scientists and assistance given to ES students to enable their professional advancement

      (15%)

d.  Quantity and quality of assistance provided to the ES graduate program, including employment, internships, fellowships, financial support, committees, and program guidance (15%)

 

3.   Application packet must include:

a.    A current résumé

b.  A 2-3 page statement by the nominee that summarizes environmental accomplishments (experience, projects, partners, awards, recognitions, etc.)

c.   Photo (electronic version preferred)

 

4.   Deadline for receipt of application packet: January 15, 2008
