AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING GRADUATE STUDENT ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH

This award is given to the environmental science graduate student who delivers the best presentation at the annual Graduate Research Symposium.

1. Eligibility: Any Oklahoma State University Environmental Science graduate student.

2.
Criteria for Selection
: Presentation at the OSU Graduate Research Symposium.

a. Quality and quantity of contribution to environmental science and management  (20%)

b. Impression made on judges as to the quality and compelling nature of the  presentation (30%)

c.  Professionalism and courteousness of the presenter during the presentation (15%)

d.  Quality and appropriateness of visual aids used to enhance presentation (15%)  

e.  Résumé  (20%)

3. Application packet must include:

a. A letter from the student’s advisor or colleague that describes the academic importance of the student’s environmental research

b. A 2-page abstract from the nominee (not to exceed 1000 words) that summarizes the his/her research findings

c. Résumé

d. Photo (electronic version preferred)

4. Deadline for receipt of nomination is December 15, 2008 and application packet is January 1, 2009
