About Bud Burks

Bud Burks was an outstanding environmental researcher at OSU throughout his 23-year career as professor of zoology. His primary research interests included the toxicology of environmental contaminants in aquatic systems and ecological approaches for control of waste products. His ecotoxicological research in Oklahoma watersheds still is regarded as the landmark accomplishment in the field. Bud also directed the Water Quality Research Laboratory at OSU, which attracted several million dollars of extramural research funding.
