About Norman N. Durham

Norm Durham joined the OSU faculty in 1954 as assistant professor of microbiology and rose to the rank of professor seven years later. During his research career, he published more than 125 articles and developed patents on azasteriods and derivatives. In 1967, he was appointed Dean of the Graduate College where he remained for the next 24 years. In 1991, he served Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and later as Associate Vice President for Academic Planning until his retirement in 1995. During this time, he also served as Director of the University Center for Water Research, which included the Oklahoma Water Resources Research Institute and the National Center for Groundwater Research.
