Mission

The mission of the Environmental Institute at Oklahoma State University is to foster environmental research, analysis, synthesis, and collaboration, and to broadly disseminate research findings through publications, colloquia, and outreach programs.

Goal

The Environmental Institute sponsors transdisciplinary scientific and policy research designed to encourage the environmentally sustainable use and development of natural resources. Such research requires an investigation into both the interactions between coupled human and natural systems and how these interactions can be managed to sustain economic growth while conserving natural resources.

Objectives

1. Meet the environmental research and information needs of Oklahoma
2. Attract extramural research funding
3. Administer the Oklahoma Water Resources Research Institute
