Promoting Interdisciplinary Environmental Research at OSU

Housed within the office of the Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer, the Environmental Institute was created in 1992 to administer environmental research programs.

The Environmental Institute's mission is to promote basic and applied research on the sustainable use of environmental resources to advance the welfare of Oklahomans. The Institute particularly encourages research that integrates the scientific, engineering, economic, and social aspects of environmental sustainability.

The EI also facilitates the exchange of information concerning sustainability through research conferences, publications, newsletters, and on-line database links.
