In 1974, the state legislature authorized the Water Board to draft the first Oklahoma Comprehensive Water Plan (OCWP) and update it every ten years. It was completed in 1975 and updated in 1980 and 1995. The latest update (going on now) will rely heavily on citizen input. Over the next four years, Oklahomans will be asked to engage in an unprecedented effort to develop recommendations for the management of the State’s waters for the next 50 years.
